Aurasma

Aurasma is a wonderful augmented reality app.  It can be downloaded onto iPads, iPhones, and Android devices.  Aurasma makes things come to life.  You have a trigger image you want to make "cooler".  You then choice and overlay that you want to come out of the trigger image.  I like to use a video to pop out of the photo.  Students love Aurasma.

Calendly

I have been looking for awhile for an on-line scheduling site to use with scheduling conferences.  I recently was introduced to Calendly.  Calendly is a tool that will integrate with my Google Calendar and makes it easy to schedule appointments.  People who want to schedule appointment just click on your calendar and enter their time on your calendar.  You can also set up time slots that people can sign up for.

ThingLink

ThingLink is a great site that allows you to make your photos interactive and come alive. Students could make their own ThingLink photo as a project for Reading, Social Studies, or even Science. ThingLink is a fun free app.

One of the best free reading websites of 2013 is a site called BibioNasium.  BiblioNasium offers students a safe environment to recommend and rate books they have read.  BiblioNasium has a book leveling feature that allows students to pick books at their reading level.
